

Perform welding, brazing, and cutting on all types of pipe in an industrial construction environment following jobsite specifications and welding procedures.

Collaborate effectively with peers, supervision, and QA/QC department

Select equipment and plan layout and assembly of welding tasks
-
Weld various types, sizes, and alloys of pipe using ARC, SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, GAS, MIG, TIG processes
-
Weld high and low pressure pipe per specifications; all welds subject to NDE testing including visual, hydrostatic, and 100% x-ray
-
Fit up pipe and perform grinding as needed

Weld structural steel, handrails, brackets, and non-piping components

Work within precise limits and maintain high accuracy

Identify and mitigate safety hazards proactively

Perform additional duties as requested by supervision
Physical Requirements:
-
Extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting required
-
Ability to communicate clearly
-
Use hands and arms for gripping, pushing, pulling tools and materials
-
Lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs
-
Work at heights including ladders, stairways, platforms (with fall protection)
-
Work in various weather conditions wearing appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, respirators, gloves, boots)
Skills & Qualifications:
-
Minimum 5 years welding experience in refinery maintenance, turnaround, or construction
-
Practical welding skills with ability to pass weld tests: Tig/Stick - 70S-6/7018 on CS Monster Coupon (2-3/4" x 5/8") and 4" Sch 10 - Tig - 308L SS

Completion of Matrix Service Safety, Process Safety Management, and site-specific training

Ability to obtain and maintain active status within required drug testing program

Pass background screening
