RDR Utility Services Group is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our Underground Utility and Erosion Control divisions. Operators will be responsible for handling heavy equipment such as excavators and dozers on various projects, ensuring smooth operations and contributing to project success. The role involves outdoor work in varying weather conditions, operating equipment safely, and assisting with labor tasks when needed.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate excavators, dozers, and other heavy equipment for underground utility and erosion control projects.

Assist with labor tasks when needed, including manual labor, digging, lifting, and equipment maintenance.

Work on steep terrain, including winching operations when required.

Install and repair gas mains and service connections, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Follow project guidelines and instructions from the RDR supervisor to meet project deadlines and safety standards.

Maintain equipment and tools, ensuring they are in proper working condition.

Adhere to safety procedures while working in the field, especially when operating equipment near live gas lines or other hazards.

Work long shifts (up to 12 hours or more) and lift up to 75 lbs., with the ability to stand, squat, crouch, and walk for extended periods.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience operating excavators and/or dozers.

Experience working in steep terrain and with winching equipment is highly preferred.

Prior experience with underground utility projects, particularly gas mains and service connections, is a plus.

Familiarity with working on live gas lines is preferred.

Ability to perform labor tasks as needed and work as part of a team.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and long hours.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in physically demanding conditions.

Ability to stand, walk, squat, crouch, and work for extended periods in various terrains and weather conditions.
