

Bechtel is seeking experienced Welders to support construction efforts at the Louisiana LNG export facility in Sulphur, LA. This position is essential to ensuring the structural integrity of the project through precise welding, fit-up, and assembly work. Welders will be instrumental in maintaining project timelines and safety standards as part of a large-scale energy infrastructure initiative.
Primary Function:
The Welder is responsible for applying technical welding skills using SMAW and/or GTAW processes. This role involves component installation, metal alignment, tack welding, and performing quality assurance checks to ensure adherence to Bechtel's high standards of safety, integrity, and engineering excellence.
Tools and Equipment Used:

SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) equipment

GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) equipment

Grinders, buffers, and files

Chipping hammers and hand tools

Measuring instruments: straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers

PPE and jobsite safety equipment
Materials Handled:

Various ferrous and non-ferrous metal components

Pipe, plate, and structural steel materials

Welding electrodes and filler metals
Key Responsibilities:
-
Perform welding operations using SMAW and/or GTAW processes

Align, fit-up, and secure metal components for welding

Tack weld structures and verify accuracy using measuring tools

Conduct front-line inspections of welds to ensure quality

Prepare welding surfaces and perform post-weld clean-up

Follow welding procedures and interpret technical drawings

Comply with site safety protocols and job-specific safety rules
-
Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area

Pass all required pre-employment and on-site testing, including drug/alcohol screening and physical exams
Benefits:
