

NEMO is expanding and actively seeking skilled Tube Welders to support industrial maintenance and power plant outage projects across the East Coast. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the structural integrity and operational efficiency of energy infrastructure through precision welding. Primary Function:
The Tube Welder is responsible for executing high-quality welds on structural and tubular components, specifically within power plants and industrial facilities. This role supports scheduled outages and maintenance work, requiring mobility, technical expertise, and strict adherence to safety standards.
Tools and Equipment Used:

Welding machines (SMAW, GTAW – especially 6G certified setups)

Torches, grinders, and cutting tools

Welding helmets and PPE

Measuring tools (calipers, gauges, tape measures)

Hand tools (wrenches, clamps, hammers)

Portable rigging and lifting equipment
Materials Handled:

Tubular steel and pipe components
-
Structural steel
-
Welding rods, consumables, and gases

Technical drawings and blueprints
Key Responsibilities:
-
Perform 6G welds and structural welds to required specifications.

Work in confined spaces and elevated areas as needed.

Assist with rigging and pipefitting duties when required.

Read and interpret technical drawings, isometric sketches, and welding symbols.

Conduct welding repairs and new fabrication in power plant and industrial settings.

Travel to job sites across the East Coast for scheduled outage work.

Work nights and weekends during project periods.

Follow all safety protocols as outlined by OSHA, ISN, ASME, and NEMO policies.

Attend and complete annual Harvard safety training.

Use appropriate PPE at all times on job sites.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Tube Welder, including 6G certification
-
Minimum 8 months of experience in power plant outages or industrial maintenance annually
-
Must have reliable transportation

Willingness to travel for extended periods including nights and weekends

Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated areas

Strong commitment to safety and compliance with NEMO and industry standards

Completion of annual safety training

Must provide and wear all required PPE
