Wood is currently recruiting for a motivated Carpenter Apprentice to join our oil and gas construction team near Jal, NM. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in industrial carpentry and construction. You will work under the supervision of experienced carpenters and have the opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced environment focused on safety, quality, and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with finish carpentry work, including framing metal stud walls, hanging sheetrock, installing drywall, doors, hardware, paneling, suspended ceilings, toilet partitions, and other office furnishings.

• Support concrete finishing activities, including smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete for floors, sidewalks, roads, and curbs using hand and power tools.

• Learn and demonstrate safe usage of hand and power tools appropriate for carpentry tasks.

• Select and safely operate equipment such as manlifts, forklifts, and company trucks.

• Assist in applying coatings, including paints and varnishes.

• Correctly install doors, door jambs, windows, trim, suspended ceilings, paneling, drywall, and stairs.

• Participate in safety meetings, safety programs, and adhere to all quality processes.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area at the end of each day or project.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Some previous experience as a helper in carpentry is preferred.

• Experience working in industrial facilities is a plus.

• Ability to accurately measure using standard and/or metric rulers.

• Basic math skills, including the ability to work with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

• Strong active listening and communication skills.

• Basic knowledge of equipment selection and the correct tools for various jobs.

• Ability to read and comprehend work-related documents and follow written and verbal instructions.

• Coordination and teamwork skills to work effectively with others.

• Authorization to work lawfully in the U.S. without sponsorship from Wood is required.

Physical & Safety Requirements:

• Willingness to participate in safety programs and comply with all safety protocols.

• Ability to work in an industrial construction environment, including outdoor and physically demanding conditions.
