

C.A. Jones is hiring Structural Welders for marine construction projects across the Great Lakes region. This role plays a vital part in fabricating and maintaining structural components in demanding industrial and marine environments. Primary Function:
To perform high-quality structural welding in marine and industrial settings, ensuring all components meet code and company standards through precision and expertise in all-position flux-core welding and blueprint interpretation.
Tools and Equipment Used:

FCAW welding machines

SMAW tack welding equipment

Oxy-acetylene cutting torches

Angle grinders and beveling tools

Measurement and layout tools
-
PPE (welding helmets, gloves, etc.)
Materials Handled:

Steel plates and structural components
-
Welding wire and rods
-
Torch gases (oxygen, acetylene)

Fasteners and inserts for repairs
Key Responsibilities:
-
Perform flux-core arc welding (FCAW) in all positions (2G, 3G, 4G)

Accurately interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and schematics
-
Conduct steel plate repairs, inserts, and general fitting using hand torches and cutting tools
-
Complete and pass on-site weld and tack welding tests (visual and bend inspections)

Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments

Collaborate with the team to ensure timely and quality completion of tasks

Work up to 56 hours per week, including weekends as needed
