Job Summary

As a Heavy Equipment Operator II, you will operate a variety of heavy equipment vehicles used for spreading and compacting construction, demolition, and municipal waste at WM’s post-collection facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with WM policies and procedures.

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance; maintain accurate maintenance records.

• Move and position raw materials and finished goods using loaders, excavators, or articulated dump trucks (ADTs).

• Follow standard operating procedures for equipment use and vehicle care.

• Perform other tasks as needed and assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years of experience with excavators, wheel loaders, or articulated dump trucks.

• Education: No formal education required.

• Licensing/Certification: None required.

• Physical Requirements:

  • Use of motor coordination and finger dexterity throughout the workday.

  • Occasionally handle items up to 30 lbs.

  • Work in environments with dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes.
